The owner of this car is Charles J. Jackson. Mr. Jackson led an adventurous life and spent some time in the Yukon. In Calgary, he was in the dairy business and for many years was a very enthusiastic Salvation Army officer. Mr. Jackson homesteaded on 11th Avenue SW which is now part of the Municipal golf course. The car is a locomobile steamer made by the Stanley Brothers, who sold out to an organization manufacturing them in the United States. The first one sold for $750.00 and the original owner was Mr. W. E. Cochrane of the C C Ranch. The second owner was Mr. Jackson, then the Motor Supply Company of Calgary, who donated it to Glenbow in 1962. The car is on loan to the Reynolds-Alberta Museum.
