Oldest house in the city, St. George's Island, Calgary, Alberta.
Colour postcard view. Constructed for surveyor Archibald W. McVittie on the west side of the Elbow River on 12th Avenue SE in 1882. It was later moved to the Calgary Zoo on St. George's Island and named 'Calgary's First House.' In 1965, James B. Cross donated the house to Heritage Park Historical Village in memory of his father, A.E. Cross. In Heritage Park, it is interpreted as the Wolffe & McVittie Cabin.
