Stamp mill.
Possibly in eastern British Columbia. Stamp is a cylindrical iron pestle attached to a round iron rod or lifter. Material, previously broken to 2 inch lumps in rock-breaker, is fed in through aperture and a constant supply of water is admitted from above. Discharge of sand and water takes place through aperture and carried forward by flushing water over an apron or table over blankets which catch gold.
