At the conclusion of the speech, Robert Bond, Premier, open- ed his reply to the debate on the speech to the throne. On Tuesday morning, parliament opened informal- ly with a cabinet meeting, followed by an announcement of the commit- tees on which each member was to serve. Each Cabinet minister con- ducts a committee. A general caucus at 9 am. opened Parliamentary pro- ceedings on Wednesday morning, and was followed by committee meetings to deeide on possible legislation to be brought up for enactment. Two im- portant resolutions were drafted. The one, advocating ab lishment of the party system of government at. fur- ther meetings of the parliament: The other offering a plan for a joint con- ference of Tuxis boys, C.G. any other young people interested to be held in Calgary in January of each year. This joint conference is being strongly advocated by Premier Bond. Reports come from Honolulu that weather is prevailing in that wonderful land. The sudden and unexpected tragedy occurred early Thursday morning, December 22 from an acute attack of croup, and was a great shock to all who knew this bright little two-year-old. Quite a number of farmers are get- ting small bands of lambs for winter feeding. One has recently bought 400 head hother 100 head of ewes and lambs, and stil another 800 head of lambs. Other farmers are in the market for purchases. Feed is very plentiful and it is thought best to feed low grade whest than to go to the expense of shipping it.
