Shown in the photograph are the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve, the Escort of Lord Strathcona's Horse (RC), the band of the Calgary Regiment (Tank), the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Legion of Frontiersmen, and the Calgary Fire Department. The City Hall Market building opposite was built in 1912 as a'temporary' post office. In 1920, it was converted to the City Hall Market and remained so until1951. In 1953 it became City Hall Annex and housed city government offices. It later became a Bank of Montreal branch, and was last used as offices for the Calgary Centre for Performing Arts. It was demolished in 1985 to make way for Olympic Plaza. See also PA-471-15.
