Walter Hill Moodie moved from Quebec City to Alberta in 1891 with his parents, Walter and Janet, and sisters, Margaret, Marion and Lucy. The family settled on the Glenbow Ranch until1894 when they moved into Calgary. Shortly after, young Walter left Calgary to work on the Dominion Lands Survey in southern Alberta. Note his working outfit of hat and leather chaps.
