File consists of verso with several different pictures on one page. A: This is a quick, but somewhat detailed sketch of a Polar Hare, (Lepus Glacialis) in flight. This sketch from September 1819 is documented in Sonia S. Bershad, 'The Drawings and Watercolours by Rear-Admiral Frederick William Beechey, F.R.S., P.R.G.S. (1796-1856),' Arctic 33.1 (March 1980): [reprint] 140., plate 14, from accounts in Sabine, 1821, p. cLxxxvii-cLxxxviii, and Fisher, 1821, p. 118. (see Bershad?s bibliography). B: These are quick, but somewhat detailed sketches of Hudson Bay Lemmings, one outstretched and the other curled in a ball. This is documented in Sonia S. Bershad, 'The Drawings and Watercolours by Rear-Admiral Frederick William Beechey, F.R.S., P.R.G.S.
