J.E. Love and Son business, Calgary, Alberta.
James Edward Love arrived in Calgary in 1905 and set up a business dealing in hides and skins at 4th Avenue and 4th Street SE. He expanded the business to include a feed business incorporated as Love Feeds Limited. Son, Jack Love, joined his father in 1932; another son, Ernie joined after the war. The business was in the same location until James Edward died in 1962. In 1963, it was moved to the Foothills Industrial Park as the city needed the site for the new Langevin bridge.
