Billy Neal, employee of Canadian Pacific Railway, holding fish.
Betty at far left of photograph. Born in Toronto in 1886. Began work with Canadian Pacific in 1902 as a clerk in Toronto and later moved to Manitoba. In 1910 he became chief clerk in the car service department at Winnipeg and in 1915 moved to Montreal in the same capacity. He was heavily involved in troop movements in 1917 and 1918. After the war he was successively assistant general superintendent at Montreal, assistant general superintendent of the Ontario district, general superintendent of the Algoma district at North Bay, and assistant to the vice-president in Montreal. In 1927 he became general manager of western lines and vice-president of western lines in 1934. Neal became senior vice-president in 1942 and president and chairman in 1947. He retired in 1948 and died in 1961.
