Sled being pulled by a sled dog and two polar bear cubs. Text on photo: "Training polar bear cubs to be useful." The photograph was taken in 1913 by Inspector F. H. French, who served as an officer in the Royal North West Mounted Police and was involved in many of the force’s sovereignty and security patrols of the Canadian Arctic in the early twentieth century.
