Royal North West Mounted Police Detachment at Baker Lake with sled dogs running around outside. The photograph was taken in 1916 by Inspector F. H. French, who served as an officer in the Royal North West Mounted Police and was involved in many of the force’s sovereignty and security patrols of the Canadian Arctic in the early twentieth century.
