Police motor boat "Lady Borden" caught in the ice at Baker Lake. The photograph was taken in September of 1916 by Inspector F. H. French, who served as an officer in the Royal North West Mounted Police and was involved in many of the force’s sovereignty and security patrols of the Canadian Arctic in the early twentieth century.
