Mr. Wilkinson will conduct the services for the first time in the United Church. Last week was an unfortunate one ior the Strathinore Ba baM Club, when they suffered two defeats. Carse land trimming them 4 to 2, while the Calgary Athletics came down and applied the - whitewash brush to the tune of 12-0. Bill Saunders attended the Elk3 Carnival at Calgary, and was lucky in grabbing off a couple o ,nice prizes. As ttie camping season is approaching Bill was anxious to cop qdf one or two hams, but 'the fickle goddess of luck wouldn't let Bill bring home the bacon. Jim Moran, one of the most ardent of the local fans was quite satisfied to lose the game to the Athletics, but is still grieving that Carseland got away with the game last week. Frank Seales, who has been in business ln Strathmore for several years. has made a business deal with Bill WoodliBe ,and will remove to Calgary, where he has taken over a shop on 17th Ave., near Victoria Park. Frank's friends wish him success in his new venture. ey is relieving agent at the C.P.R. while D. A Perry is away on iiis vacation Everyone may expect some real live Ash stories and golf anecdotes when D. A. returns. Mr. Herb Miller has resigned hij position with George Lane Compal as manager of the Bar U Ranch after many years of active service. Mr. Miller came to Alberta 42 years ago from the south driving ten teams of oxen 'when lt took him seven days to drive his outfit from Macleod to High River. From the date of his arrival here he has been more or less associated with the late George Lane, in charge of the round-up wagon and manager of the Namaka farm and later manager of the Bar TJ. which is Canada's largest ranch property High River Tinjes. The Women's Institute have completed arrangements for the- Baby Clinic, to be held in the basement of the United Church on Monday, June 2?Ui, and will 'start at 10 a.m. The clinic has been doing excellent worfc throughout the Province, and every mother who is interested in the future of her 'infant, should avail herself of this onnartunity. The school stall for next term wfll be as follows: Grade I, Miss Strong; Grades II and III, Miss Folk; Grades IV and V, Miss McGinnls; Grades VI snd VII, Mr. Watson; Grades VIII, IX, X, and XI, Mr. Foster and Crowther.
