Suitor House
The Suitor House in Inglewood was built in 1907 and owned by Alderman Robert Suitor. The building served for a time as an isolation hospital for patients with infectious diseases. It also served as a temporary boarding house for railway staff and their families.
One young husband and wife were boarding at the Suitor House when a tragedy occurred. The husband was hurt and then died from a railroad accident. The wife passed away soon after from grief.
Many people say they’ve seen a heartbroken woman with long black curly hair standing on the third floor balcony in a long white dress. No such woman lives there. The building is used as a doctor’s office today.
