New and temporary buildings. Emmanuel College was founded in Prince Albert in 1879 and was incorporated in 1883 as the University of Saskatchewan. In 1909, when the Provincial University was established in Saskatoon, Emmanuel College was moved to that city and became an affilitated college which confined its work to theology. From lantern slide used in lectures by Walter Edward Harrison illustrating the work of the Colonial and Continental Church Society upon his return to England. Harrison studied theology at Emmanuel College in Saskatoon, then served as a priest in Fort Vermilion and Peace River Crossing in Alberta.
