Ejler Castella on the coal shute. Hans Castella emigrated from Copenhagen, Denmark in 1912 with his wife and family. He settled in Standard, Alberta in 1916. In 1921 Hans and Axel Castella bought the Standard Coal Mine from Kerrison and McArthur. In 1922 Hans becme the sole owner of the mine which lasted until 1952.
