Graduated from Trinity College in 1874. Came to Calgary in 1883 and in 1886 was appointed to look after health of Blackfoot, Stoney and Sarcee (Tsuut'ina) tribes. Also appointed by Canadian Pacific Railway as honourary surgeon to North-West Mounted Police in Calgary, Alberta. Retired in 1908 after many strenuous years of general practice.
