Mrs. Edith Swanson and sons, Richard and Arthur, with family Hupmobile car. Mr. Swanson built wooden extensions on running boards and on trunk to carry luggage wrapped in tarpaulins, which were also used for tenting at night. This family travelled by road and rail during the Depression years, the father finding employment each winter.
