Hay's converter cattle, near Pekisko, Alberta.
Result of a project initiated in 1957 to breed Hereford cows and Holstein bulls to increase milk production and to guarantee more size, growth and more effective utilization of feed. Some Brown Swiss cows also involved in project. By 1968 the newbreed was wintering well and fulfilled many of Hay's expectations in terms of production.
