Conductor on transmission tower re-armour rodded, Kemano-Kitimat transmission line. British Columbia.
In January, 1955, heavy snow slides from the rim of Glacier Creel Bowl wiped out three towers and damaged others in Kemano-Kitimat transmission line. The solution was to eliminate all towers for a span of about 7,000 feet by lifting this section of both transmission lines by a cross-catenary system of steel cables, suspended from anchors high on the mountains. Alteration because of change to conductor tensions.
