George Coote, Nanton, Alberta.

Born in Oakville, Ontario, George Coote joined the Bank of Hamilton as a young man. He worked for the bank in Winnipeg, Kamloops and Nanton. In 1907 he was appointed office manager of Shaw and Cooper's real estate business. In 1921 Mr. Coote was elected Progressive party Member of Parliament for Macleod constituency and became a member of what was known as the 'ginger group' in the House of Commons.
