Sketch by Captain H. de H. Haig, Royal Engineer. Published in the 'Illustrated London News', May 23, 1885. Captain French had served in Irish Militia, and North-West Mounted Police and was a settler in the Qu'Appelle Valley. Later killed by sniper at Batoche.
