Mrs. Alexander (of the Alexan. der Tours) arrived in Banff on Wednesday with a party of forty girls and registered at the King Kdward Hotel. This is an aunual event, and the visit to Banff and adjacent points (in private car) comprises only one part of a continental tour. The * 'Rocky Mountains Tours are driving. Mrs. Alexander hails from Birmingham, Alabama. A party of seventy-live representing Cosmopolitan Tours'' of Chicago arrived fn Banff on Thuisday. A.G. Porter was in charge. Gillam, Philadelphia, Bird Natuialist, was a week-end visitor to Banff. Mr. Gillain says there are certainly some fine 'birds' in Banff, especially at the week-end. Obituaries KERR Mr. Wm. Kerr Nicholson of Banff passed to his rest and reward on June 30th, 1926. at Eagle Rock, Los Angeles. He is survived and mourned by his widow, and Miss Nicholson of Ottawa, Mrs. Wm. McNichol of High Etver, and Dr. T. M. - Njcholson of Vancouver. CHILDE The death of Mr. James T. Childe occurred 'in Herefordshire, England. The deceased was botn in Wigmore Grange,Herefordshire, England. April 21st. 1857, son of Wm. and Eliza Childe. He was educated a. Malvern, Parkgate and St, Paul's College. He also received an engineering education in Middlesborough, Yorkshire, ond was later attached to the Royal Engineers. He came to Cauada in 1883 and took up surveying and' general engineering in Winnipeg. He moved to Calgary in 1886. and was chief engineer for the Noith West Territories, at Regina from 1897 to 1901. He conducted the Lethbridge-Raymond Irrigation woik 3901-1903, was divisional engineer of C.P.R. Irrigation Canals 1903-1907, Chief Engineer Gravity Water Supply 1908. ity- Engineer of Calgary 1909-1912, Resident Engtiteer ef Reeky Mountains Park 1912-1920- He retired in 1920 and returned to his home in Eugland. He married Laura N. Mbore of Cronkbourne, Isle of Man and Ballamore Ranch, Calgary. He is survived by one son, Cyril and two daughters, Monica and Beryl. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and past district deputy grand president of the Sons of Eugland. Jas.
