Published in the Calgary Herald, March 4, 1965. The historic Braemar Lodge, an upscale hotel built in 1892, was ravaged by a fire shortly after demolition. The rubble, soon to be cleared away for a parking lot, lies next to the skeleton of a new, $2,000,000 luxury hotel (the Sheraton) on 4th Avenue and 1st Street SW.
