First Plus 15 (+15) walkway. New walkway linking Calgary Inn and Calgary Place, Calgary, Alberta.
Published in the Calgary Herald, January 22, 1970. First Plus 15 appears in Calgary, between Calgary Inn and Calgary Place buildings. 'Planners hope that within 20 years every downtown block will be linked in this manner, so that pedestrians can spend all their time in landscaped malls instead of walking beside automobiles belching fumes at street level.' [Harold Hanen, city planner, developed the Plus 15 concept, for which he won a Vincent Massey Award for Merit in Urban Planning.]
