Cross receives a set of polo mallets on behalf of '...employees and their wives.' Mrs Cross receives flowers from Melinda Dipple, who according to the Herald, was the company's only female pensioner. A.R. Cross, Donald Cross and John Cross, all not shown, were also honoured. The company was being bought out by what the Herald called 'Eastern interests.'
