View from hill. Brickyard house to left. Drying sheds right foreground. William Piper came from Ontario and chose this brickyard site in 1891 for clay. Water was drawn from Piper Creek to mix the clay and operate the steam boilers. The house was located on Gaetz Avenue and 43rd Avenue.; 1892 he brought in brick machinery and workers from the Parry Sound area. This brickyard was operated by William and his son, Frank, until 1910.
