Wednesday, December 1, 1982 ampanneeeceuguavedtaneneanecnncneeereecenatt fw WUUUHAUENODAERORUREURET ED AADAUEEH EEE NAHUATL OLDS Mountain View 4-H Club report On November 2nd the members had a judging clinic at Wright s farm in preparation for the: judging competition in Edmonton on Novem- ber 4th. One of the teams placed 2nd out of 13 teams while Kirk Rutley was 8rd high individual, as well as 8rd in the senior exhibitors class. Angela Johnson was 6th high individual as well as 7th in senior exhibitors and Clair Crosbie -was 8th in junior exhibitors. These members are to be congratulated. . Lexi Wright entered the Junior. Dairy Show where she placed second in showmanship in the THE Holstein ciass. On November. 8 the club leaders attended a 4-H on Parade meeting at the Airdrie Regional Centre. On Nov. 10th the Club executive met to discuss and plan their 1982 - 83 year. On Nov. 20th we held our regular club meeting and each member made a halter for their calf. Members plan to pick their calves on January 1, 1983 and will have their Christ- mas on December 28th at the Coburn Hall. The next meeting will be held at Rutleys on Dec. 4, 1982, at 12:00 noon sharp, all members are expected to name parts of the cow for roll call and we will be judging two classes of Jerseys with Greg Coleman as of- ficial judge. Everyone welcome. Olds Tiny- Mites c-2 Napa Nuggets - Since our last report the team has played two games, winning one strong Olds C-3 Team. It was a good game for both teams with the C- 3 coming out on top by a score of 7-4. Several mental lapses caused a couple of good goals against us but overall the team played: well. Shawn Coles was in goal for this game: On Saturday, Novem- ber 27, we travelled to Sundre . and played what was perhaps our best game of the season. It was a total team effort with everyone doing their best. The first period was a tight-checking affair with neither team get- ting many chances. Olds emerged with a 1- 0 lead. In the second -the Nuggets exploded with 3 goals in 7 minutes to take a commanding lead. At 11:13 Sundre scored: on an innocent looking shot: from the: side to make the final score 7-1. Reid and Terry Lin- dsay. In an interview after the game, coach Wright said he was very pleased with the im- provement in the performance of the team and in par- ticular he was im- with the hard work displayed by Dale Davenhawer and Amin Adayatila who both had several good scoring opportunitites. Again. the . coaching staff would like to thank all. the friends and parents. of the players for supporting us so vocally at the games. Keep up the positive attitude folks. Olds Mitey Mite No. 3 On Saturday Novem- ber 27th the Mitey Mite No. 3 team played the Trochu' team. Members. of the Olds team were Todd Gallais in net, Chris Andrews, Tom Clark, Aaron Grant, Shane Heck, Danny Heilman, Chris Lamb, Bradley Moore, Aaron Mueller, Jason Ross, Lee Taylor and Jason Thomson. The team is coached by Ken Taylor. The Olds team displayed a good com- bination of passing and skating as they defeated Trochu 13-0. Goals: scored for Olds were Shane Heck. with 4 goals and 1 assist. Brad McDermid with 3 and 2 assists. Lee Taylor with 1 goal and 2 assist. Danny Heilman with 1 goal and 2 assists. Chris Andrews got 1 assist. Tom Clark got 1 assist. Chris Lamb got 2 assists. Graig Moore got 2 assists. Jason Ross got 1 assist, and Jason Thomson got 1 assist. Thanks to all spec- * tators who attended the game.
