With the Games now only nine months away each Director is putting chairmen in place prior to meeting with techni- cal staff from the Games Council. This meeting is designed to not only answer ques- tions Directors and chairmen may have but to. clarify areas of re- sponsibility. The sports package has received Games Council approval and Director Al Qually ex- pects to announce shor- tly the sports that will be held in each com- munity. This job is being done by Ted Her- man who has cleared the way for meals to be served from one of the Olds College buildings by a catering service. Arrangements have been made for athletes to be accommodated in Olds public schools and in Olds College. West- ward Ho Park has been reserved for a four-day. period for families who are camping. County equipment is working on the track infield in Didsbury and interior drains and cul- verts have been instal- led by the Town of Didsbury. Prior to seeding the next step is hauling in black dirt for the infield and shoul- ders. Fencing by ball club volunteers is near- ing completion. Souvenir Promotion Director Bill Sheehan reported that the offer of gold and silver com- memorative coins has been well received.
