The 6:30 reception was an informal time of renewing old acquain- tances and getting to know new members. Following a delicious supper, each chapter gave their report of the last four months. Of the 24 chapters who make up the Provincial Association, there were 15 present. These in- cluded - Edmonton, Westlock, Fort McMurray, Slave Lake, Camrose, -Lacombe, Castor, Coronation, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Drumheller, Magrath, Three Hills, and Calgary. There were approximately 50 people representing these areas and Olds. President, Mrs. Ruth Lemke: of Camrose started the meeting promptly at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Some of the business being discussed was: The name Associa- tion for Children with Learning Disabilities has been changed to include Adults, . there- fore, from now on our own association will be known as Mountain View Association for Children and Adults with Learning. Dis- abilities . We have instituted a committee to look into revision of the school act. This com- mittee will be working with professional con- sultants. e The status of the Institute for Learning Disabilities at the University of Alberta was discussed. The Institute has been initiated by the Alberta Association and is now a.co-operative venture of different depart- ments at the Univrsity. The Association has instituted a Scholarship Fund. Applications will now. be received for this scholarship. It will be awarded to students in the field of Learning Disabilities who are attending University. e Friday, November 19th, we will be having a workshop here in Olds. The. guest speaker will be Mr. Bill Page from Nashville, Tennessee. Mr. is widely known as a dynamic speaker. Four other chapters will also be hosting him at workshops.
