Already several hun- dred students and alumni have visited the center located in the Duncan Marshall building, either looking for a career or assistan- ce in job search plan- ning. It s a very heavily used service, said Siobahn Avery, student employment officer. Not only do students find. those important job opportunities they also get information on every. single aspect of the search. Information on resume writing, covering letters, inter- view techniques and employer contacts is available in the center. Students and alumni can either drop-in or make an appointment to discuss their par- ticular case, said Avery. There are also several workshops on job sear- ch skills held at dif- ferent times of the year, she said. This kind of service is part of the educational process , she said. The kind of coun- selling a student gets from the employment center is the kind that stays with them for the rest of their life, Avery said. But the center has more to offer than just job search training for students or alumni. Employers looking to fill,a certain position are also offered help.
