A good crowd and a good time featured the masquerade dance held last Wednesday week Miss V. Aspinal won the ladies’ fancy dress; Mr. .F. Cunningham annexed the gentleman’s fancy costume prize; Mrs.. W.-Henderson and Mr. G. Skinner won the comic events. Music by the Innisfail orchestra was much enjoyed. Quite’ a number of Olds Jadies visited the Eastern Star lodge last Wednesday week. Mr. and Mrs. Harry . Morris motored to Barons to visit at the home of the fatter’s sister, Mrs. Baycroft. Born—To Mr. and Mrs. A. Span- kie, January 18th, a daughter. Mr. J. Lumsden suffered the frac- ture of a couple of ribs as a reeult of a fall on icy surface. GARRINGTON Thirty ladies were present. at the Mrs. Lyse, and which was opened A poem, “‘Home- keeping Hearts ‘are Happiest,’’ was read by Mrs. Waillsie. November and December minutes were read by Mrs. Lyse and Mrs Hudson respec- tively, and a greetings letter from Mrs. Montgomery was also read. Buying of raw wool: and exchanging same for sock-yarn and balls was dis- cussed, and Institute funds will be used for this purpose, returned goods to be sold-at cost price. Mrs. Morris’ and Mrs. Hudson were chosen cap- tains of teams for a unique contest. A point each will be credited for being on time, for bringing requested articles, for answering roll call, and for bringing a visitor not having attended within a year, making a tetal of five points per member. The losers are to treat the winners at the next January meeting. Mrs. Morris gave a talk on “The Good of the Institute,’’ following which it was propused that two ladies should unite at entertaining in the future, and was adopted. A varied program of novelty numbers, such as mouth- organ solo, step dance, hard luck story sung by the “gang,” solo by Mrs. McLaren, ladies’ trio, readings by Mesdames Narman.
