The funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 4, 1990 from Mountain View Funeral Chapel, Olds, at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend Leonard Ling officiating. If desired, memorials may be given to the Olds General and Auxiliary Hospital and Nursing Home. Mountain View Funeral Chapels, Olds, entrusted with the arrangements 1-556- 3223. Tomaszewski On September 30, 1990 Mrs. Patricia (Patti) Tomaszewski, (nee Sylvester) passed away at Olds, Alberta at the age of 47 years. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael (Mike) of Olds; four children, Marnie and Catherine of Calgary, Stephen and1 David of Surrey, B.C.; her parents, Richard and Mary Lou of Osoyoos, B.C.; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Tomaszewski of Camrose; one sister, Lynne Sylvester of Osoyoos, B.C.; one brother and sister-in- law, Richard and Linda Sylvester of Edson; .numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Prayers will be held Tuesday, October 2, 1990 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Olds. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 1990 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Stephen's Catholic Church with Father James Murphy Celebrant. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre Mountain View Funeral Chapels, Olds, entrusted with the arrangements, 1-556- 3223. Reginald (Rex) Thompson Niebet, born December 14, 1897, on the family homestead southeast of Innisfail, N.W.T. (now Alberta) died at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria on Thursday, August 9,1990. At the age of 17 he joined the Canadian Army Medical Corps in Calgary, Regimental No. 523481. Within a year he was sent to England then to France where he was severely wounded. He was hospitalized in the Netley Hospital of Southhampton Upon his return to Alberta he home- steaded at Bottrel for a short time, followed by working a number of years in logging and construction in various places in both Canada and the United States. He settled in Victoria in 1930. He and the former Miss Ena Lep- pard of Red Deer, Alberta, were married at Central Baptist Church by the late Dr. J.B. Rowells in 1934. During World War II, he was employed by the Victoria Machinery Depot as shipwright. A few years after the conclusion of the war, he was forced to take an early retirement due to declining health. Mr. Nisbet will be remembered as a quiet, earnest Christian gentleman, a faithful follower of his Lord, a loyal friend, a dearly loved husband, father, brother and uncle. He was predeceased by his wife in 1976 and by their only child, a son, Martin, in 1984. Besides his daughter-in- law, Pat, and granddaughter, Kathleen, he leaves his sister Jessie of Olds, a sister-in-law Faye Nisbet of Bowden, three nephews of Bowden - Olds, Alberta, and three nieces, one of Edmonton, Alberta, one of Surrey, B.C., and one of Toronto, Ontario. Funeral services were held at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 15th, 1990, in the Floral Chapel of the McCall Brothers Funeral Home, Victoria, B.C. Interment followed iii the Royal Oaks Burial Park, Victoria. v ' Goldsworthy Anna Goldsworthy passed away peacefully at the Olds Nursing Home on September 28, 1990 at the age of 76 years. She was born in Calgary, Alberta, December 5, 1913 to Reverend and Mrs. Adolf Schultz, a German Baptist minister. The family moved to serve congregations in Minot. South Dakota, Souix City, Iowa and various congregations, in Western Canada. In 1926, Anna and her brother, and sister moved to the Trochu area and then Edmonton and district, where she married Harold (Goldie) Goldsworthy on April 4, 1936. She was active in Strathearn United Church with Explorers and CGIT, while raising two daughters. Being very artistic, she enjoyed gardening and flower arranging. She was interested in ladies fashions and became active in the fashion industry as a clothing buyer. Harold and Anna moved to Olds in 1977. Throughout her life, Anna was noted for her great sense of humor, which made her loved by one and all in the Olds Nursing Home, where she resided since 1988. Anna had a great love for children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband, Harold (Goldie) Goldsworthy of Olds; two daughters, Carole Anne (Don) Williams of Edmonton; and Judith Marie (Erwin) Lutz of Calgary; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; her loving sisters, Betty Lindstrom of Portland, Oregon, Tony Preas of Redding, California and Velma (Jackie) Hiller, of Olds. She was predeceased by her parents, and eleven brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 2, 1990 at 2:00 p.m. from Mountain View Funeral Chapels in Olds with Pastor John Wollenberg officiating. Nielsen Niels M. Nielsen (Tractor Niels) as he was known to most of his* friends, passed away September 25th, 1990 at the Olds HospitaL Niels was born in Haderup, Denmark, January 10th, 1897, baptized into the Lutheran faith January 17th, 1897, and confirmed at age 14. He spent several years working on local forms and after serving in the Danish Army, he immigrated to Canada in 1921. He worked for his Uncle Pete in Carbon for a short time and then Niels and his brothers, Jim and Anton, worked together at Reed Ranch. Later on, Niels bought a tractor and broke a lot of land in the Olds area. Many times he spent long hours on the tractor and that was how he got the name Tractor Neils. He farmed south of Olds for many years and retired to Olds in 1955. In 1982, he moved to the Lodge and then because of ill health went into the hospital in 1989. Niels enjoyed getting together with his old friends for a game of cards and his,birthday was always a special celebration for him and his friends. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Jim and Anton. He is survived by two' sisters and several nieces and nephews in Denmark. Also, a sister-in-law, Betty Lawrence of Red Deer, and a nephew, Douglas and his wife Peggy and their two daughters, Brenda and Shawna of Drumheller. Funeral services were held Friday, September 28, 1990 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Paul's Lutheran Church Olds, with Pastor Reinhold Hohnsbein officiating. Interment followed at the Olds Cemetery. Pallbearers were Eric Iversen. Ken Petersen, John Iversen, Gunnar Christensen, Vern Petersen and Walter Morck. If friends desire, memorials may be made to Olds General and Auxiliary Hospital Wednesday, October 3, 1990 and Nursing Home Memorial Fund Mountain View Funeral Chapels, Olds, was entrusted with the arrangements. obituary Nina Rowell, R.N*., died September 26, 1990 at Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria, B.C. Bom at Grass Valley, California in 1899, She moved to Olds, Alberta in 1905. Nina graduated in nursing from University of Alberta and practiced her profession in Alber ta and British Columbia. She resided in Rose Manor for the past 10 years. She is survived by her sister. Vimy Currie of Calgary; brother, Kit- chner Rowell of White Rock, Surrey, B.C.; also nieces and nephews. Accompanied to Olds, Alberta for funeral service on Thursday, October 6, 1990 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mountain View Funeral Home, Olds, Alberta. Interment to follow at the Olds Cemetery.
