The biggest lot of us are mostly all together, in the same battalion, and everything ‘Gake,”? so far. I have been in France and in the trenches for some time. We are still the .same. jolly old bunch and often think of-Olds and the good old times we had there. (France is quite different from the West,.and it is a very fine part of country. where we are, but I don’t know as I have seen any place I like any better- than the wild West.. Of course, we are always seeing something new over here, as we are always on the move some- where. Things are very interesting sometimes, when ~ Fritz takes a notion to send a few shells dver on the Canadian boys. I have met one or two from Olds-that lave been over here for some time and are all making good— Billy Mallison for one, who is now with the’ divis- fional ‘signalers and engineers. saw it mentioned where S. D! Watts! of the old 187th Battalion had: been wounded, but it must bea false report, as I see him quite often, and he has never hada scratch as yet, as faras Iam aware: He is.now with the 50th Canadians, France. How is recruiting in Olds and district. this year? Don’t suppose it is very. good, as the volunteers have mostly all gone.that intend to. | If any of the boys: “would: like to join us, our battalion address is 50th Canadians, France.
