Dairymen meet in Calgary In addition to the varied working sessions at the 7ist Alberta Dairymen’s Provincial Convention to be held February 5 to 7 in Calgary, 20 young Alber- tans’ names and _ their student councils will be drawn from the more than 100,000 entries that came in for the ADA’s fall “Money for Moustaches Contest’’. Winning students and their student councils each will receive $250 for their participation in the province-wide contest held throughout Alberta schools to stimulate milk consumption by young people. In this, the second year of the contest, 162 schools participated as compared to 85 last year that brought 25,000 en- tries. “What Alberta makes Alberta’’ theme of this gathering at the Palliser Hotel. The three-day event has been designed for both the producer and processor in the province. Among the keynote speakers will be Marvin Moore, Alberta minister of agriculture; Cal Brand- ley, agricultural law solici- tor, Alberta Agriculture, who will present father- son agreements with a considerable question per- iod; Dr. A. E. Harper, professor and chairman of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Univer- sity of Wisconsin-Madi- son, who will deal with current . controversies in nutrition; and Dr. Henry Randolph, former head of the Dairy Department, Texas A. & M., who will discuss increasing the shelf life of dairy products and their quality.
