Hello Friends, The season of shorter days and longer hours of darkness is here. At this time of year the lighting of our homes becomes very 1m- portant. Good Light — Good .Sight 1. Eliminate glare by shading all lights — use froster bulbs. 2. Keep all lamps and reflectors clean, 50% of your light may be absorbed by dusty 4 s and fix- tures. i cee 3. Keep ceilings and walls light in color and free from dust in order to iget the greatest amount of light reflected from windows ‘and ps. Dusty or dark walls Helen Howard, District Home Economist 4. Do not paint malls, woodwork or ceilings in glossy paint, do not use shiny rede er. These pro- duce a glaring kground for lamps. 5. Select pnple lamp shades that have white linings. S. capital, businessmen and tourists to that northern area. That means that the Alaska high- way will come into greater use, which will benefit Alberta if this province is alert to the oppor- tunity. But the highway from Ed- monton to Dawson Creek will have to be improved. That is the re- sponsibility of the Alberta Govern- ment, Then the Alaska highway from Dawson Creek northward will have to be biack topped .That may be done, probably through an ar- rangement : between the govern- ments of Canada and the United States. The North American Highway Association is promoting highway yhroug! 93 which comes north Idaho and Montna and enters Can- ada at Rooseville south of Fernie. At a gathering held at Kimberly an “on to Alaska” tourist program was endorsed, under the chairman- ship of Jack Kerr, of Frank, Al- berta. The Crowsnest Pass towns will benefit greatly if this devel- opment works out. The shortest route to Alaska is via the Crowsnest Pass and on @ “THE CONTINENTAL” In fact, Manorline convenience means a lot of things!- Insulating Fanel Windows for instance — banishing the problem of storing storm windows In the spring, dragging them out again in the fall and having to clean them in an endless cycle of out-dated, old- fashioned drudgery.
