Blood,” will also be screened at the same performance. : 3 All the horses to be. sold at the Community sale next Friday are. real. classy, belonging to Lester Smouse, who is leaving the district. : HARMATTAN The residents of Harmattan may . i aving the Mayfair Itinerary Picture Show bring , to their community such a picture of renown as “The Covered Wagon.” This is the first time that this famous picture ‘has. been screened in any rural district in’ the Dominion. ‘The Covered Wagon”’ is the great- est production of the moving picture world, and holds the world’s record for attendance. “The Covered Wagon’? will be shown at Har- mattan on Friday, Dec. Sth. : GARRINGTON The Garrington W.I. met at the home of Mrs. Johnson on Thursday, Nov. 13th, with twelve members and two visitors present.; Meeting opened with singing. . Lee the girls of the Rosebud Club on Nov. Ist. There were seven. mem- bers. and. three visitors -present. The meeting was opened by singing “Bonnie Mary of Argyle.’’? The roll-eall: was: answered by,.“‘Things for which we are thankful.’’ Pro- gram. consisted of a debate, ‘‘Re- solved that the country boy is pre- ferable. to. the city .boy.’’? “The affirmative was. taken by Mrs. Ed. Ronneberg, assisted by Merle Miller. As no one was present for the neg- ative, this side of the question was taken up in round table talk. Lucille Sevrens read a very inter- esting and clever story, this being the first of a series. “The re- union of the Rosebud Girls’ Club in 1950,’ was read again on request, also a portion of the poem, ‘‘Evan- geline.”’ Only three articles ap- peared for the flour sack contest, Maybelle Kjorsvick winning first prize with a pair of pillowslips and Olga Ronneberg second: on a table cover. The next meeting is to be at the home of Mrs. Dille on Dec. 6. Mrs. Ed.. Ronneberg entertained
