It was in the early part of Jiuly of the present year that the deceased became ill, and was later moved to the Olds general. hospital, ‘but find- ing that his illness was "but a matter }of time, he was taken back to his home at his special request, where he preferred to.spend his remaining days. Born in Rothsay, Ontario, March 13th, 1852, where he resided. until 1883. At the age of 25, he mar- ried Sara C. -Delmage. and’ to this union two sons and three daughters were born. In’ 1883, the family moved to. Michigan, ‘U.S.A., but ‘in 1891 they came back to Canada and resided near Calgary until 1896, when they imoved to the present home at Westerdale. The deceased organized the first Sunday school in. the Westerdale district, afterwards becoming a: lay preacher, for which he was specially gifted. i Always. being intere&ted in the building-up of .the community,’ it was Pioneer Morphy’s sole hobby to be of help to somebody, and many have: been greatly benefitted in times of need and sorrow, by his genuine devotion to service among his friends and. neighbors. : £ heurs-fot To the People of the Town of Olds and District The Olds board of health wish to thank the people, of Olds and dis- trict for their co-operation during the last three: weeks, since the epi- demic broke out, and would ask you to,still further co-Operate and assist us in the future by. following -a few suggestions given here: We have, by adhering ‘strictly to the quarantine, been fortunate. in not having a case of infantile. par- alysis in the town limits in three weeks, and as ‘the one case we had has completely recovered, we have opened the school, for those parents who wish to send their children, but want it understood; the ‘following order must be observed: The special constable has orders to..warn any- child 18. years and under that no loitering is. allowed on the street and children are only allowed a reasonable time: to go to and fro from school. ; If you do not care to send your children to school, please keep them on your own. premises, as we want to prevent: children gathering and playing on the, streets, and so help lessen the work of the constable. We also -recommend the older people to stop visiting and to stay in Olds as nruch as possible. We are not admitting children to our school from other municipalities, nor can any. child 18 -years and under come into or leave Olds with- out permission ‘from the Olds. board of health, and those doing so will be HERE!
