These include a new stampede contest called steer decorating, the appearance for, the first time in Canada of Brahma steers for the steer riding contest, and a novelty stage production, ‘“At the Fair,”’ which will be the closing | feature of each evening's program. .The Brahma steers .are.a cross be- tween the sacred cattle of India and the Texas cattle, and-are similar to the Texas cattle in build, with very long horns. and hard to ride is putting it mildly. The Wild Steer Decorating con- test is a death-defying, -dare-devil stunt, where the cowboy leaps, bare- handed, from the back of a galloping horse to the horns of a wild steer and places a ribbon on the horn against time. No rope-used. Only his bare hands. The acme of. thrills, a feature being intraduced for the first time anywhere where cowboy nerve, brawn and skill are unex- celled. 5 The novelty revue, ‘‘At the Fair,” which will close each evening’s pro- gram in front of the grand stand, is also a new idea in exhibition enter- tainment originated at Calgary, and will be an added surprise to a diversi- fied and intensely interesting show. In addition to the above new fea; tures, and the magnificent display of the west’s best live stock and indus- trial exhibits, the week’s celebration | includes the following features, which made a new attendance record of 197,000 last year: The. Stampede parade, the great opening number five miles long, old timers’ reunion, the western morn- ing streets display, running races, Indian races, cowboys and old-timers ball, Australian national band, high- clags vaudeville, fireworks, old time camp, including Indians in their tepees, Royal Canadian mounted police, chuck wagon camp, all sur- rounding the log head-quarters of the old timers, mounted police, Hudson’s Bay trading post ‘and forestry build- ing. This combined. celebratios 4 coupled with a visit to Banff, Lake Louise, gems of the Canadian Rock- ies; provides a wonderful opportunity for.an unusual holiday which cannot be equalled. Special passenger fares will be in force from Saskatchewan, Alberta mainland To say they are wild} Olds Wins at Tennis On Tuesday evening the tennis courts presented an animated scene, when the Olds club representatives took part in their first inter- provincial game this season with Didsbury re- presentatives as visitors.
