Mrs. Helen Millar and Elsie, back; Malcolm T. Millar and Mildred, seated. Millar, one of the original settlers, moved to the area 1886. He established the first trading post in the district. Acted as postmaster from 1892 to 1911. Mrs. Millar (nee Helen Alice Shaw) was the first teacher at Fish Creek (Midnapore) from 1887 to 1891. The Millars later retired to the Wales Hotel, Calgary.
