Patrick J. 'Paddy' Nolan, King's Counsel, in front of original Ranchmen's Club, Calgary, Alberta.
Came to the west from Ireland in 1889. Was a very well known Calgary lawyer and personality. Served as defence counsel in the Ernest Cashel case of 1903-1904. For a short time was editor of the Calgary Herald, and contributed many articles to that paper. He was a close friend of Bob Edwards of the Calgary Eye-Opener. Ranchmen's Club was located at 7th Avenue and 2nd Street SW. See also PA-863-17.
