Head cowboy on saddle horse. Harry Bettis was born in England in 1867 and came to Canada at age 18. He joined the NWMP in 1885 and worked as a teamster until 1890. He then worked on the 76 Ranch and later spent some time in Australia. On his return to Canada he married Sarah Warnock on July 12, 1899 and they settled on Fish Creek between Maple Creek and Fort Walsh.
