His platform: ts quite clear, he said in.aphone interview on Dec. 19 First. get. his. own - party together and mak sure they have their house in order. he said Over the past few months there has been polarization in the Alliance caucus, in the party s national cquneil and even among fund-raisers People approached him to run, he said, because of the conciliatory approach) he takes Once the Alliance speaks with one voice again. Peter White, a prominent Ontario Conservative, More: important, he has received public backing from three other Alliance MPs: Monte Solberg from: Alberta, Vic Toews trom Manitoba and John Cummins from B.C. The party's lone senator, Gerry. St Germain, also supports Hill. He said many more have indicated to him they. will announce their support when Hill officially opens his cam- paign office in the new year.
