William Edward 'Bill' Plowman was born in London, England. He came to Canada and worked as a wood-turner in Edmonton, prior to enlisting in the 49th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force. Five years ago he became house steward of the local branch of the Canadian Legion at the Memorial Hall. This photograph shows the gun carriage with coffin draped, with a detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in charge. Constable MacGillicudy is shown mounted, while those in charge of the carriage are Constables Nielsen, Treadgold and Winn. Additional views in series.
