William Edward 'Bill' Plowman was born in London, England. He came to Canada and worked as a wood-turner in Edmonton, prior to enlisting in the 49th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force. Five years ago he became house steward of the local branch of the Canadian Legion at the Memorial Hall. The pallbearers, all members of the 49th Battalion, were W. E. Rose, A. Smith, W. J. Hill, I.
