Solon Low was a member of the Social Credit Party and was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in 1935. He became Provincial Treasurer in 1937. He was national leader of the Social Credit Party from 1944 to 1961, and served as Member of Parliament for Peace River from 1945 to 1958.
