Programme, an open discussion ou Xmas time, with suggestions for Xmas gifts, en- tertainment, dinner, ete. A pleasing event took place at the home of W. M. Fleming on Tuesday evening, when about forty of his friends as- sembled to bid him farewell prior to his departure for Ver- million, where he is going to attend the Agricultural College. The evening was spent in games and music, and after a dainty lunch had been served by the ladies Mr. Fleming was called forward and presented with a handsome suit case, a box of handkerchiefs and a silk tie, accompanied by a very kindly worded address, expressive of the high esteem in which he is held in this neighborbood, Al- though taken completely by surprise, Mr. Fleming replied in a suitable manner, thanking the people for their kindness to him and stating that although absent he would still retain his interest in Argyle and its af- fairs.
