Colonel Sitwell served in Africa, serving in the Durhan Light Infantry and the Rhodesia Horse, before South African War, joined Canadian Militia in 1904 and transferred to staff in 1910. He returned to Calgary, Alberta in 1899. Was stationed at Calgary at this time at the local headquarter's as permanent staff. Sitwell was born in Montreal, Quebec in 1869.
