Studio portrait. Mixed-blood leader. Born in Red River in 1836, he was educated at St. John's Parochial School and St. John's College, and then became a teacher. He was a charter member of the Masonic lodge at Fort Garry, and he became its junior warden. He was appointed to the Council of Assiniboia in 1868, the year he died.
