Mendel and Bella Switzer emigrated from Radom, Poland in 1923. Joined their daughter Lily and son-in-law Nate Horodetzky on their farm in the Jewish farming colony at Rumsey. Family moved to Calgary, in 1926. Mendel was 65 at time of their arrival, died in 1943; Bella was 55, died in 1954. Married in 1884. Note Mrs. Switzer is wearing a 'sheitl' or wig which Orthodox married women wear after having their hair cut off.
